Surprisingly, reverse auctions have been around for thousands of years, since the Babylonians.
Reverse Auctions became popular in the 1990s, where they were used in procurement and purchasing by businesses and industrial companies. If you want to know more about that side of reverse auctions…Wikipedia’s article on Reverse Auctions is definitely your best source.
But, if you’ve heard some buzz or a friend has asked you what a reverse auction is recently, it is probably because of a company called Dubli. They have brought the world of Reverse Auctions to the average consumer like you and me. They have a very cool model which is pretty brilliant in my opinion, and I think everybody should at least take a look at it to see what it is all about.
I’m giving away 10 free Dubli credits ($8.00 value) so you can experiment with no risk or obligation whatsoever.
Oh, and this isn’t some new fly-by-night, hyped up company that will be gone in a month or two. Dubli has been around for years, and active in Europe since 2006. They are solid, and just now ready to launch in the United States.
Shortly after they launch (April 2009), they’ll bring a shopping portal (similar to Amazon) online that will really expand your options.
For more information on Dubli’s Reverse Auction system and hopefully all your answers to the “What Is A Reverse Auction” question…please visit our home page.
I’d love to hear if you have any experience with this model or have heard of Dubli at all - leave a comment on my blog!
Thanks,
Scott

Kara Dunn told me about your company. I am interested in seeing it for myself.
Thank you,
