Surprisingly, reverse auctions have been around for thousands of years, since the Babylonians.

But, if you’ve heard some buzz or a friend has asked you what a reverse auction is recently, it is probably because of a company called Dubli. They have brought the world of Reverse Auctions to the average consumer like you and me. They have a very cool model which is pretty brilliant in my opinion, and I think everybody should at least take a look at it to see what it is all about.
